Gwinnett Surgery Center

I was scheduled to have a five minute surgery today. I arrived at 11:15 for an 11:30 appointment. Long story short, the pre-op prep is two hours. TWO HOURS for a five minute procedure. They didn’t tell me that on the phone before scheduling the surgery. So I’m lying in a hospital bed or whatever you call it. Feet hanging over the edge (I’m 5’10 and the bed must’ve been 5’8). It’s cold. They gave me a warm blanket at 12:00 but at 2:00, I’m cold and uncomfortable but no one is saying anything. I finally asked what was going on and was told there were four surgeries ahead of mine. FOUR! So why did I have to arrive three hours early? Because “it’s their policy.” This makes absolutely no sense at all. The office manager asked if I wanted to reschedule. And I said no. They schedule the patients who are having general anesthesia first before the one’s having local anesthesia even if the person having local anesthesia’s procedure is only five minutes. When I started asking questions and expressing my discontentment of not being informed ahead of time, I heard some cackling in the background. These folks have no conception or respect for time, or people. I will not go back there. Period. Ridiculous.

I have not had my appointment yet, but I received a call at 3:04 PM on 12/15—asking if I had copies of my ultrasound and mammogram because they did not have them on file. This call was made just one day before my scheduled appointment. I had no prior knowledge that these records were missing. This could have been addressed if they had called at least 1–2 full business days in advance so the documents could be sent over. Because of this last-minute notice, I was forced to reschedule my appointment, which was very inconvenient and inconsiderate, especially as I am actively trying to get answers about my health. Please call ahead, because they will not notify you in advance if they are missing required documentation for your appointment Update: I previously had to reschedule my appointment and was given a new appointment date. However, it appears that the rescheduled appointment was not properly entered into the system. When I called to confirm that my ultrasound results had been received, I was informed that I did not have an appointment on record. As a result, I now have to schedule yet another appointment for next week

Had the best experience at Gwinnett Surgical Specialists. I’m so happy with the treatment I had here ! They were a very nice staff and very welcoming. I had Dr Schwartz do my breast reduction and he was very professional and straight to the point of what should I expect! I would give him a 100 if I could . I actually had to come back a second time to get a drain put in since one breast was full of fluid and Gwinnett Surgical made it easy and comfortable for me . From the nurses to the Dr’s including the anesthesiologist made me feel comfortable for my procedure. Definitely they are the best !

This office was pretty efficient. I did not have to wait long at all. The doctor also showed up pretty quickly. The surgery coordinator Shelly was very helpful and she was able to schedule a surgery for me for a week later. She also went out of her way to make sure she received the surgical clearance paper from my family doctor. I appreciate her good service

Overall Amazing Job to Dr Schwartz and staff. From start to finish my Breast reduction surgery team was the best team I could ever have. Both consultation and surgery provided by Dr Schwartz was a great success. All questions and nervous feelings I had throughout the process, Dr Schwartz and staff explained and walked me through each phase to understand the complete process and benefits from my procedure. Not only am I excited, sleeping very well through the night, have eliminated back pain and most happy on the amazing final results. To include family and others have had nothing but great remarks of my breast reduction appearance also. It has only been 4 months, but as the breast continues to heal I'm greatly appreciative and like to give great thanks again Dr Schwartz, staff and surgical team.
