I recently visited Advance Eye Center with my father, and we had one of the best experiences we’ve ever had in the healthcare industry. Josefina was the young lady who assisted us throughout the entire process, and she truly stood out. She is intelligent, knowledgeable, and incredibly compassionate. Josefina showed genuine interest in our situation, approached everything with humility, and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable while making a very important decision for my father. Her professionalism and kindness made a world of difference. If you have the privilege of being cared for by Josefina, I’m confident you’ll receive the same exceptional treatment we did. Great work—absolutely no complaints!

having retired from the opthalmic field ( used to fixed lasers and phacos for 30 plus years). I knew my eyes were ready for a yag procedure. I went to Dr. Ackerman since I knew of him from the old days and told him I knew what I needed. I had cataract surgery done by a friend of mine but she has since retired. He did Yags in both eyes but took about 12 shots in my left eye and around 5 in the right eye. I could feel that it was done for a few weeks. During a follow up with Dr. Kim I could tell something was not right. She said if the floater did not disappear in a few months to come back. I went back in a few days because I could tell something was not right. After some retina pictures it was determined that I had a detached retina that Dr. Kim apparently missed. Im now 2 weeks post op from retina surgery from Ga.Retina. Did the Yag cause it? Hard to say. Did it help it along? Hard to say. A Yag laser does not burn but creates little explosions where the aiming beam is focused on. This is how a yag works. You will here a little pop each time the yag is fired on the scar tissue that rests on the backside of the lens implant. So we really dont know if the yag caused it or not. As far as Ackerman and the staff, they are great and I would trust him with your eyes. My issue was with Dr. Kim missing the detached retina.

Cannot recommend this practice. They inflate their billing with charges for procedures that should be included as part of exam. Was charged additional $115 to have one eyelash removed that was turned inward at suggestion of doctor during exam. Was not told there would be an additional charge for him to do this, otherwise I would have declined. Charging patients for services without disclosing costs (or the potential for additional cost) is not a way to do good business. Be careful if you use this practice.

My experience was phenomenal. Everyone was so friendly AND thorough. I was super nervous as l wasn't receiving the proper care at the last eye doctor I went to. Dr. Kim didn't rush me out and listened to my concerns without making me feel stupid. A rarity in healthcare nowadays. Already referred my mom and will be taking my daughter as well. Thank you so much!!

I've been a patient of this practice for many years and have always received excellent care. This visit was especially good because of the very professional care from the two women who did the preliminary workup. I only got one name, Josefina, but they both were well trained, friendly and answered all my questions. All the other staff from front desk to checkout were very professional, helpful and friendly.
