Dr. Raouf Hilal and his PA - Christana Daly are amazing to work with. They are very attentive in providing you the time and proper care to address and properly treat your GI symptoms. A huge shout out to the front desk receptionist - Lauren Thomas - who is very courteous and uber helpful to get you in touch with an internal resource within their vast organization. It is a good medical establishment and as they do many of the surgical testing onsite - it is another added benefit.

Never again will I receive care at this facility! It was a nightmare. I won't even discuss how difficult it was to reach the office, as they scheduled my appointment on a Monday following the Christmas holiday and a weekend when they were closed, or how short and uncaring the receptionist was. What I will share is "the Nightmare After Christmas!" Two nurses assisted me with drawing blood and collecting my information. They informed me that I needed to administer an enema myself, which was unexpected and had never been explained to me as part of the process. I was directed to a bathroom that was in a disgusting condition—the trash can was overflowing, there were no paper towels, and urine was on the toilet seat. Considering the office had been open only an hour, it appeared the area had not been cleaned the night before or prior to opening, which was extremely concerning. Additionally, the nurse drawing my blood caused significant pain during the first attempt, then proceeded with a second attempt without covering the first puncture site, leaving blood exposed. She also continued using a glove that had torn. These issues were alarming and raised serious concerns about the facility’s cleanliness, hygiene, and overall safety standards. To add to all of this, I experienced some of the most intense pain of my life while being anesthetized, with significant burning and discomfort. When I woke, I was simply escorted to my ride with discharge papers—no one came to explain what had happened, offer an apology, or discuss how the procedure went. I have never been more dissatisfied with a medical experience. I will not be returning to this facility for future colonoscopies, nor will I seek care from Dr. Panzarella again as a result of this experience.

They did the job good, treated me well. But the billing is awful. They told me what I had to pay for “doctor’s fee”, “facility fee for endoscopy” and “anesthesia”. For the anesthesia I was told at the doctor’s office it was going to be $50, but then the day of the procedure I got charged $83, and they acted like I was already good to go, everything paid. A month after I got the biopsy bill which was $255, and I just paid it because I understand that the biopsy is not always performed (but they could at least have given you a warning that YOU MAY get charged more if you get a biopsy). But now, 6 months after the procedure, I got a bill for the anesthesiologist for $548!!! From which they subtracted the $83 I had paid for “anesthesia”, and now I owe $464… I called both places (the facility and the anesthesia place which is sending me the bill) and they all say that I have to pay because the first amount was just an “estimate” and that after it goes through insurance they send you the bill of the remaining which is completely nonsense. I don’t understand how a facility that does this type of service daily cannot give the patient a real price for the service BEFORE they get it. It is always after the fact when they tell you the price and when you are already forced to pay. How can they be so off in an estimate from $83 to $548?? And not only that but the complete lack of communication. They couldn’t even give a WARNING to the patient to let them know that they MAY get a bill for biopsy AND for anesthesiologist 6 months after??? It’s just scary how you are told a price for a medical procedure (which was already very expensive). And then you can just keep getting bills for the next year or so with surprise charges that nobody told you about. They really need to fix their billing department and COMMUNICATE with the patients. Now, having the prices dropping to be more reasonable for a necessary service would be a miracle to ask for.

I had a very disappointing experience at this facility. While the doctors are great and knowledgeable, the staff is terrible. Scheduling a procedure here is extremely difficult, and the staff members are not friendly at all. It feels like no one is moving to help, which adds to the frustration. Unfortunately, I will have to find another GI doctor just to avoid dealing with this office staff.

The doctor doesn't listen to your concerns. I had to keep reminding them to send prescriptions or test. Spent two months trying to get a referral for an ultrasound of my abdomen. Called several times and was told they would email. It never came. Gave up. I will be looking for a better doctors office.
