Excellent staff! Dr Chisholm is the absolute best! I’ve been a patient for approx 15 years and have always been impressed with kindness and knowledge of Dr Chisholm and his staff. The employees seem to care for each other as well as the patients. Office is always clean. I have never felt rushed. The staff is/has always been very approachable and nice. There’s an overall feeling of kindness which can be hard to find in a medical setting. Def worth my 90-minute drive to get here. Dr Chisholm has seen me thru multiple surgeries and now I am almost pain-free!

I had been going to Dr Chisholm for about 10 years. When his office was bought by California Pain, I was wary about changes. The clinic in Rancho Bernardo with Yadira and Yarixy is like a second home to me. The office is bright, and warm. Yadira, Yarixy, and Rachel are incredible and I really feel like they listen to my concerns and have allowed me to live through what used to be constant pain. The doctors and PA’s are special, but the office staff are amazing.
I love the comfort and kindness at California Pain Consultants Rancho Bernardo. The staff were welcoming, the doctors very knowledgeable, and I felt real relief after my visit. The convenient location and easy scheduling made everything stress free. I would definitely come back again.
Comprehensive was acquired last summer (2025) by California Pain. The process at CA Pain does not have your attending Dr. track your case, essentially another Dr. tracks a bunch of patients they don’t actually treat, including at least some follow ups. The treatment/attending Dr. may read some notes, but they basically walk in, verify treatment (shot location in my case), then completes the treatment, that’s it. IMO this totally disconnects the doctor-patient relationship and in my case has resulted in very poor service and not only ineffective treatment, but treatment that is causing increasing pain. The ‘tracking Dr’ didn’t even have accurate records of my treatment, so how can he discuss treatment or make changes to the treatment plan? I cannot recommend either of these pain clinics, though Comprehensive technically no longer exists.
