As a long time management consultant I have nothing but praise for my recent experience with the Surgical Center of San Diego. Twice my surgery was unfortunately canceled because of a bad cough and yet the prep nurse was so gracious, kind and professional each time we had a review the days before the surgery. When the day of surgery arrived I walked in the doors to be greeted by a precious angel so full of joy and yet professional in all she had to do to get my paperwork going. She shared lots of good information but really we shared life together the way she cared for me, a somewhat anxious stranger. Then my op nurse came to get me with a smile, and sat me down to go over everything that would happen that morning so then there would be no surprises. She was great. Took my vitals and helped me each step of the way. Dr. Sherman arrived, pleasant and kind as ever to review with me everything that would be done in the operation and what was needed after it. He marked the spot with his initials to get the right side and said he would see me again on the other side of the operation, but I probably wouldn’t remember much. Then the anesthesiologist arrived kind, profession and experienced to double check to make sure I understood what the operation was going to be, and confirm all my paperwork, asking vital questions to make sure I had no allergies or anything that could be of concern with the anesthesia. This was the part of the operation that most concerned me but you could tell she was very competent which reassured me. And the nurse told me she had never seen anyone die from the anesthesia :). Another happy nurse stepped in to help me get the last minute needs taken care of and to wheel me into the operating suite. It was a fun ride. Once in the room they moved me to the operating table and made me very comfortable, talking to me about each step of the journey. They told me the anesthesia was about to flow in and the nurse placed an oxygen mask as she asked, “what will be your happy dreams?” My instinctive response was to say, “I’m just praising the Lord” and my lights went out. When I awoke there was no pain, I was a bit woozy but felt good. The doctor came, but I don’t remember a thing, but I was told all went great and I will be able to see some of the video next week. The discharge nurse was kind and joyful, and I drank lots of juice and water. About an hour later I was wheeled out the door to be taken back home by my terrific wife. Now 24 hours later, I still have little pain unless I cough, sometimes in when I walk, but overall it’s far better than I could have imagined. I should be back on the pickleball courts soon at this rate, and no longer having to push back in a hernia in between points. You all get a fantastic A+ 10 Star rating for this well run, caring, competent and professional organization. Your leader must be very proud of you. Keep up the great work and caring attitudes. Surgery is scary and you made it go so informative, smooth and well that it took a lot of the fear away. Thank you so very much! You rock!

I was very impessed with the Surgical Center of San Diego. All staff were very professional, friendly and helpful. They ensured I was always comfortable and were very thorough with my aftercare. They also tended to my wife throughout my procedure, making sure she was cared for and kept informed of my status. I would highly recommend this facility and Dr. McSweeney as well.

I had my first colonoscopy here with Dr.Rubin. Super quick. Everyone on the staff was friendly and kind. I felt well cared for. Dr. Foltz gave me a great nap and I was not loopy at all afterwards! Both Ashleys and Savanah were terrific nurses. Seems like they have a good work environment. Highly recommend!

I recently had surgery here with Dr. Samimi and I was really happy with my experience! From Christian at the front desk, to my pre-op nurse Astrid, I felt safe and taken care of the entire time. My anaesthesiologist Dr. Doschi was amazing and really helped soothe my anxiety about going under. Dr. Samimi is a pro, the facility is clean and sterile, and the staff was really kind and helpful. Highly recommend this place for any surgical procedures!

A very professional and easy experience. In terms of getting surgery. Everything was communicated clearly. Day of signed all the paperwork, went in for prep. Talked to my my surgeon, Dr Tontz was excellent. Then the neuro monitor nurse, the anesthesiologist and the RN. All excellent and caring peoples. Couldn’t have been in better hands. Was wheeled into the OR and remember transitioning from the stretcher to the bed and then nothing else until waking up about three hours later. Yay modern medicine. If I had to have surgery again, this place checks all the boxes
