I had the most wonderful care team when I was there last Thursday for meniscectomy. Cate and James took their time in pre-op to answer questions and get me ready. They worked so well together and truly cared about the patient. Dr Pennington was my anesthesiologist. He such a gentle care person. I had questions and he took the time to answer and take stress away. My OR nurse Kelly was great. We talked a little as they prepared me for surgery. She was kind and funny (we chatted about the surgeon’s music choice) and totally put me at ease. The post op nurse David was kind enough to get me more graham crackers. (I was starving haha). The next day the care team called to check on me and reminded me about steps I should be following at home. I would definitely recommend South Denver Surgery Center.

My medical procedure was great -- everyone was very helpful and the procedure really reduced my pain. However I'm having the same issues with billing that everyone else is. I can't get an itemized bill sent to me. I'm early in so I'll have to see how the other charges go. I was quite shocked to see what they billed my insurance as this was not a surgery -- just an injection. I've gotten several different phone numbers for people in billing and never can reach anyone in person. I would probably not go here again.

If you never want to know what the billing department is doing and have to put a lot of extra effort in between the office and insurance, this is a great facility for that. The services provided, like other comments were great, however, I will never return nor recommend this facility to anyone who is needing surgery. There are many other options and I will ensure no one I know, and hopefully you reading this, never go here. Definitely don't recommend this facility and would look at other centers for your surgery needs, your mental health is important too. UPDATE Two months in and still not completed. Classic everyone blaming the other when in reality, the surgery center billing is the problem. Be aware, they do not collect for the doctors or anyone else for the surgery, they only collect for their facility. Expect multiple bills from doctors well before this billing department lifts a finger to submit the claim to insurance which ties your money up for a very long time. If you do end up getting a refund, the billing department says it takes 5-6 weeks to receive it. Essentially you pay them to not process things efficiently. Again, would avoid this surgery center completely.

From the moment I showed up to the moment I left, the care I received for my foot surgery was fantastic. The nurses were incredibly caring and competent, the safety protocols were impressive, and everything ran smoothly and on schedule. I was anxious and they were very accommodating. They turned a scary situation into no big deal. The co-pay was high. I paid another $1250 although I only have $840 left on my insurance deductible plan. We’ll see what happens next here. Edit 3/25: on the billing issue, the amount was correct. For those with upcoming surgeries, depending on your insurance, they may ask you to pay your full responsibility right there. That’s what it was in my case and it was higher than I was expecting. Edit 5/21: Removed stars for bad IV. I now how 6+ huge, painful clots on my forearm from the IV line inserted poorly by my pre-op nurse. they are so extensive I may need a surgeon to remove the vein in 6 months.

The entire staff from the front desk to the pre-op, surgery and post op team were outstanding. And Dr Murken from Panorama was awesome as well.
