If I could give a zero to this place I would. My wife went in to get a simple procedure of removing an ingrown toenail. Instead of listening to her the Doctor, Chris Byrne, pushed a different procedure in which she was not comfortable with and wanted to stick to just the removal of the ingrown. She had already had one removed on the other side of the same toe by a different Dr at the ER. Since my wife decided to not go with the procedure the doctor did not pay attention and cut into the side of her toe that was already done and not the side she had asked for help with. This is clear negligence of your patients needs Dr. Byrne. My wife is now in pain for no reason and still needs to get treatment on the effected side. My wife had a terrible experience the first time she saw you tried to get a referral to another doctor but they weren’t accepting patients until after Summer. I had convinced her to go back because everyone deserves another chance. This Doctor does not.
Dr Byrne is very knowledgeable and took the time to thoroughly explain the mechanics of my foot contributing to hot foot/metatarsalgia while cycling. He addressed my concerns regarding conservative measures to take to avoid developing further foot issues and referred me to a store for a prefab orthotic that was very reasonable. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend him.
Worst medical experience ever. Be prepared to wait in the office for 45 minutes past your appointment. Staff never seems to be happy to see you. The treatment always begins with a sale at SLO Motion Shoes. That is the go-to fix for the group. No surprising since there is co-ownership between the group and the store. Be aware not all orthotics are covered by insurance. My orthotics fell apart in a week. Key staff only work a couple of days a week which leads to poor communication and follow up. They tried to overcharge me at each appointment. First time was for the whole amount of visit (deductible was already paid..., so no) and second time larger than usual copay (also no, I know what my copay is). If you have older parents, please go with them since they will likely pay the overcharges. And do not feel you have the right to complain about the staff or anything else because they will drop you for that. Even if it is a week before surgery. Here is my letter to prove it. The poor ratings on yelp are spot on to my experience. Priscilla needs to do more homework..., she recommends a doctor that does not perform surgeries when I need surgery. I guess those two doctors know where their upset patients are coming from. -- Joseph, We appreciate your interest in obtaining podiatric care as a patient of San Luis Podiatry Group. We take pride in the level of care that we provide to all patients. It seems we will not be able to meet your scheduling needs now and in the future. Having provided exceptional care to thousands of patients over the years we do understand that we can’t provide care to all patients. We will provide a copy of your chart notes and would recommend the following podiatrists to continue your care in the future. Rex Thornhill, DPM Scott Adams, DPM You will be receiving a refund check for the orthotics, under separate cover, from SLO Motion Shoes. We wish you well with your future care. This was my first visit. Everyone there is very nice. I'm glad my Dr. referred me to this Dr. I'm waiting to find out if my insurance will pay for diabetic shoes.
I liked everything about my visit there! From the ladies at the front to the physicians assistant, and the doctor himself. All good. Thanks for making me feel comfortable.
