We can’t praise North Florida Surgical Center enough!!! From the time you walk through the front door to when you walk ( or being rolled out in a wheelchair)out the back door everyone is tAmazing!!! My husband had hip replacement by one of the greatest doctors we have encountered, Dr. Gray, we can’t say enough about this kind, experienced doctor!! Then theirs Jennifer, not 100% sure her exact roll because the girl is all over that place, she seems to wear different hats and does each with precision. I must give kudos to Etsy, who does the billing she was always so helpful anytime we needed her. Thank you too all that work there , you made us comfortable and always informed. Mike n Dana DiGuglielmo 😊❤️

I had a " MILD " There this morning and the staff are Fantastic. Dr. Lipnick performed the procedure and I was in and out in 3 hours. The staff have to wake up early as my check in time was 6:30 am. Again a Very good performance by everyone there.

What a great experience for a difficult situation - surgery. Every interaction with the professionals was pleasant and helpful. There were several instances where extreme patience was exhibited in challenging interactions. Each person we interfaced with went above-and-beyond to explain everything and ensure we were comfortable and that our questions were answered. We felt respected and cared for. The environment was clean and comfortable. Parking was very accessible and close to the front door. The bathrooms were neat and tidy. I would refer my patients to this facility without reservation, as my own experience there was stellar! Thank you to everyone who helped us.....

Billing nightmare, and Administration was severely lacking and unorganized. (details below) Surgeon was great, had great bedside manner, very positive energy, and no complications whatsoever. Administration and Staffing: I received conflicting feedback on preparing for the surgery, alongside scheduling confusion because I initially agreed to move my surgery back to accommodate a cancer patient. My surgery was not life threatening and could wait, so I had no problem changing the date, only to receive a call back a few days later to re-schedule it back to the original date. Also, there was conflicting advice on whether I could or could not consume small amounts of water prior to surgery, when/if I should keep taking my current medications prior to surgery. Overall a confusing mess, and very nerve-wracking when preparing for a surgery. On day of surgery I arrived 15 minutes early. The front desk staff were tending to someone, there were 3 in total, 2 were chatting. After they finished with the other person I stood in their line of sight waiting to be called over only to watch them partake in a group conversation. I was not called over until they finished their conversation. Arrived 15 minutes early just to wait 15 minutes to simply be acknowledged. Then the paperwork obviously takes time. After fasting from the previous day starting at 10:30/11pm, my appointment was scheduled mid morning, I was not taken back into prep until almost an hour later of waiting in the waiting room. Then another almost 3 hours went by. I end up panicking halfway through those 3 hours because I expected with all the phone calls, and insistence on filling out health information online, etc... that I would be home by then to breastfeed/pump for my baby. I had enough time to ask my family members to drive home, grab my pumping equipment, drive back, complete a full pumping session, and store it away, before I was taken back for surgery. Ridiculous. And I was not the only one, I overheard another patient waiting behind a privacy curtain voice a similar complaint of having been waiting over 2.5hrs in prep. Side note, the nurse that set up the IV picked the worst possible location on my wrist, as if the veins in my arms were not very obviously large and visible. My mother is a doctor and she was perplexed by this, and was so bother by it that she commented on it. My hand went numb after a while from the IV line and they just left it saying it was normal/fine. Horrible job on that nurse's part. Billings: Be prepared to receive multiple bills all separate from each other with limited information as to what they are for (other than "remaining charges/services, etc..." very vague. The kicker was a non-affiliated bill from the anesthesiologist that was an independent practitioner not under the North Florida group that was also NOT in network for me and sent a bill almost as large as the initial one I received for the surgery itself. I would not have even bothered scheduling an appointment with them if they had, regardless of how great a surgeon Dr. Pikins is. When I asked the billings department at North Florida about the independent practitioner bill they insisted that they do not hire 3rd parties at any of their facilities, so either they are very misinformed, or just liars. Their accounting/billing people cannot even get their affairs in order enough to simply send 1 final bill estimate of remaining charges and services. Instead they sent 3 bills, weeks apart from each other, all stating that they were for services not budgeted/covered in the initial up front charge/previous bill at the time of the surgery. Incompetent, inefficient, and from the patient's perspective breeds immense distrust.

Was a pleasant experience from check in to recovery. Not only did they go above and beyond for my son making him comfortable and keeping him calm, but they were checking on my wife and I in the waiting room. They offered warm blankets, drinks and snacks. Nurses were great. Awesome experience all the way around.
