*Updated* They also sent me a $920 bill for anesthesia, two months after my surgery, on the day I lost my job. The next day my rent was due. It was supposed to be covered under workers comp, but they blamed their third party anaesthesiaologist for the billing issue. Pros: -Dr. Costigan the and the PA on my initial visit seemed knowledgeable, despite spending limited time with them. -Also Anne Marie, Monica, Fiona, and Kate did a good job of explaining things and were very helpful. Cons: -Lack of professionalism and communication: the Anaesthesiaologist Dr. Agarwala did not explain his procedure beforehand. He should've explained what would happen on his end first, then I could ask questions, rather than putting the blame and responsibility on an injured patient who has not received any information. When I did ask, he sarcastically said "I'm going to put chemicals in you and you're going to go to sleep". I don't think his tone towards an injured patient was necessary, and I would prefer someone with more professionalism and bedside manner. -Issues with their "system" that they blame on their Cedars merger. You have to take the initiative to call them and follow up, otherwise they won't call you. -They don't tell you the time of your surgery appointment until the day before, and not until past noon. This made it difficult to coordinate transportation, as I couldn't tell my ride what time it would be. It doesn't seem reasonable when folks don't know what to tell their employer how much time they need off to pick someone up. They assume everyone has a caretaker who can drop everything to drive them. Some employers require a week's notice minimum to request time off, which they made impossible. -Lack of Professionalism again: one of the OR nurses (a gentleman) was making sound effects with his mouth while another nurse was trying to ask me questions and give me instructions. With it already being very noisy, it was very difficult to hear crucial information due to the lack of professionalism in a surgical setting. Conclusion: -If perhaps Monica and Anne Marie could offer feedback to Dr. Agarwala on how to explain a procedure to a first time patient, I think it would be helpful to lots of other patients.

Horrible! Dr Ashford's office staff has forgotten about me as a patient. I followed up TWICE with Yesica Flores, and Kelly regarding a Cortisone injection I was due to receive for my Degenerative Spondylolisthesis diagnosis. It's been over a year now, and I've yet to hear back from anyone there. I can't begin the physical therapy they suggested I should do after the injection, due to the debilitating pain I'm in. At this point, I've given up on getting any help from Congress Orthopedic Associates-Pasadena

I cannot say enough about congress orthopedic surgery center at 800 raymond avenue pasadena. I have had several spinal injections there with Doctor RoyAshford. From the moment I arrived I was greeted by two beautiful ladies named Joanna and Juliana. These two ladies set the mood for my procedure. They greeted me with such a warm caring attitude that really calmed me down. Because I have had so many surgeries in the past and so many spinal injections they could tell I was a little Nervous upon my arrival. But leave it to these two ladies to save the day. They went out of their way to make sure.I was calm and comfortable before I got taken.Band reassured me that if I needed anything all I needed to do was ask. I cannot say enough about the customer care I received. I wish I could give them a 100 stars better.Yet a big race for their true compassion for patients. Doctor. Ashford delivered the same type of vibe. I wouldn't go anywhere else. I wish I could give you ladies a million stars, and you too, Dr. Roy Ashford.

Not sure they make them like Dr. Shankwiler anymore...he's extremely knowledgeable, personable and patient. He took the time to thoroughly explain my ailments, the potential causes and options for treatment to best align with my lifestyle. He and his supporting staff made me feel instantly at ease and we had a few laughs along the way. I felt seen, heard and I would highly recommend this practice to anyone in need. Additionally, the patient website is also intuitive and allows for easy scheduling and followup. Great visit!

I like it there. It’s a large, peppy room with lots of sunlight and cool pictures on the walls. The people working there are efficient and cool. The interior colors of tan, etc. work well together to create a warm ambiance so that I felt calm and relaxed. It’s a good place. The doctor was kind, appropriate, friendly and knew his stuff!! I felt comfortable and I trusted what he said.. I felt like I was in good hands!
