This review summarizes my experience: the clinic is spotless, and all personnel, from the intake team to the surgical specialists, are professional and courteous. Dr. St. demonstrates extensive knowledge and technical expertise. I appreciate the referral to this clinic affiliated with Mount Sinai.
Medical care was fine, but billing/ insurance is the 7th circle of hell with these people. I’ve been battling an insurance issue for over a year now, with them claiming I owe $1200 for a preventative colonoscopy that my insurance 100% covers. They coded it wrong and even after several calls from me AND my insurance company, they continue to refuse to fix it. I even tried going in person to talk to someone and no one would let me in the door. My husband had the same exact procedure in a different facility and we had no issues. I will never, ever go back here. Avoid at all costs!! (No pun intended…)
What a Center! Clean professional and comfortable! Giselle at the front desk was really sweet and welcoming . My nurses Chris and Anna were pros and super attentive. Dr Ross of Anesthesia made me very comfortable ,calm and was super informative and Dr Ari Grinspan is such a friendly, knowledgeable amazing caring skilled surgeon &doctor. Overall great experience and team! Highly highly recommend!
Like others in these reviews, I got bad instructions and was unable to get my procedure done after doing the hideous prep work.
The colonoscopy prep instructions were sent to me via voicemail and text and I followed them to the letter. Turns out the prep instructions were not right for me and I needed something more customized. Dr. Gottlieb was not able to complete the colonoscopy successfully and told me I would need to repeat the procedure - after being on the toilet all night and taking time off work. She told me that her staff was supposed to call and speak to me and come up with a customized prep plan for each patient, but I never had that conversation with anyone, just cookie-cutter instructions. A nurse told me afterward that he always recommends patients fast the entire day before the procedure rather than starting at noon as I'd been instructed. That information really was not helpful to me AFTER the procedure. Why hasn't this office modified the instructions they are sending patients to indicate that they should fast all day so that they have the best chance of success? Worse, Dr. Gottlieb suggested that I complain to her staff. I don't understand why she didn't address this with her staff directly to make sure it doesn't happen to other patients. I expected significantly better care from Upper West Side Endoscopy which is part of Mount Sinai.
