I had surgery here. Was a pretty terrible experience. From the start, the staff made me feel as though I was bothering them. Like it was annoying to check me in and answer questions. After being checked in, I was taken to pre-op where, I kid you not at all, there was blood on the floor. I took a photo. I should have just left. I told the nurse about it and she said it was from the last IV and that someone should have cleaned it up. No one ever did. It stayed there. Mind you, this nurse was putting in my IV, which took four tries by the way. Four. So, knowing that the blood was from an IV while having my IV put in was awful. And gross. And probably unsanitary. After the surgery, I was awakened and essentially rushed out. I was disoriented and nauseous but was handed my clothes and shown a wheelchair. It was 430. They wanted to go home. I was still falling asleep, and sick. I needed more time, but no one even asked. I realize that most of the time we don't get to pick where surgery happens. Our doctors do. But please, if anyone asks you, ask for other options.
I was a bit disappointed with the after care. I had carpal Tunnel surgery, great surgeon, Peter Fitzgibbon, had twilight sleep, not quite with it when I left. I was given no discharge instructions other than move my fingers and use ice. I have been a nurse for over 43 years and have had a few surgeries. I have never experienced this before. Not a happy camper.
Dr Boden, the anesthesiologist and the nurses there were exceptional. My surgery went well and am recovering well too. The front desk staff was really unfriendly and made us feel like they did not appreciate our business. After seeing their demure I almost was thinking did I make a mistake? Some positive vibes would have been encouraging.
Our surgeon was awesome, but the Surgery Center Insurance and Billing Departments are terrible to deal with. We were overcharged for Surgery in April 2024. It's now late August. I left messages with both Departments. They will not return my calls. Letter via registered mail is next followed by small claims court.
Have had several spine procedures done at this location over a year and a half ago and very recently. Expect to have more procedures done this week, actually, and will be scheduling more soon. My surgeon has part ownership here and uses the facility at least one half day weekly for several outpatient and fairly brief procedures. The place is meticulous, staff is exemplary regarding care, personalities and kindness. I have absolutely no negatives to share except I find it difficult to pre-register using their portal. Upon arriving, registering can take some time if it is a busy waiting room so patients are to arrive at least 30 minutes in advance of their outpatient procedures. That time includes waiting to be escorted to a cubicle in a different area so as to change clothes and wait for details to be completed with medical staff. Very efficient management! I have not had any major medical work here, only reporting on outpatient back injections and nerve ablations.
