My experience at Orange Park Endoscopy Center was excellent. Every staff member I encountered was kind, courteous and made me feel valued. They were reassuring and supportive, which was really wonderful as I was quite nervous. Everything ran on time and scheduling was easy.
The proficiency, speed and extreme care at which the team at Orange Park Endoscopy Center works is AMAZING! I would like to thank Cindy, Mary, Heather and Shannon at the front desk who greet when you walk in. Julie my Pre-op nurse, Jen and Pat who helped during the procedure and Sam who was there to greet me with a smile and cup of water in recovery! You all work like a well oiled machine!
Terrible experience. I had an endoscopy/colonscopy procedure scheduled over 2 weeks ago. They called me last week, 2 days before the appointment, to let me know that they were still waiting on insurance to approve the endoscopy part of the exam. I rescheduled for the following Tuesday and called my insurance right after- they said they should have an answer by the next day. Yesterday, I got a call from the center again saying again they were waiting on insurance to approve the endoscopy but I could have the colonoscopy done. I called my insurance and asked and they said they should have an answer next day (day of procedure). I called my doctors office and asked if it got approved by the time of the procedure could they please just do both since I don’t have a ride home other than a medical transport service and I’m moving almost 2 hours away this weekend, so will not be able to get the endoscopy done otherwise. They said yes. I come in to the center 45 minutes early and they still hadn’t called my insurance to check- this should have been done before I arrived to the center. The lady at the front desk wasn’t exactly warm and friendly when she checked me in. She told me the staff were on the phone with my insurance that minute and there were 10 calls ahead- she asked if I wanted them to proceed. I reiterated if I don’t get both done now I won’t be getting them both done. I’m kind of angry at the lack of organization, insensitivity to my situation, and lack of attention to proper patient care. I won’t be coming back to this endoscopy center ever.
Any procedure can be a little nerve racking. I have to say that the staff here was so polite & professional. They understood I was nervous and did everything to make me comfortable and relax. They explained everything in detail to me as the procedure was happening. The Staff was very friendly with the patients and even each other. My procedure was at 7am and everyone was happy and hugging each other, I even mentioned to my Nurse, how everyone was happy so early in the morning and she said we are 1 big family here. My Doctor came in and explained the procedure to me and he was so friendly and professional as well. Great overall experience.
The only reason I didn't give 5 stars, was the front desk check in person. The manager (Carolyn) checked me in and was snarky and sarcastic. Certainly not what I ever want to be greeted with but especially not when I'm NPO and tired. Every single other person there was wonderful and I'd much rather keep doing procedures here than at a hospital.
