10.29.25 7:50am Daddy had Medial Branch Block temporary lidocaine injections, 3 on each side of his lumbar region so 6 shots in total, injected by his Pain Management Specialist, Dr. Justin Lo, MD, at Northern California Pain Specialists. This was to test to see if pain would be reduced for actual steroid shots to be injected next time. After we left daddy said he felt really good and had no pain the entire day. He had gone to early morning church service at 5:45am prior to this appt, then again to their elder group church service with lunch afterwards at 10am-1:30pm, then we took daddy to walk around in the mall from 2pm-5pm. All day he had no pain! 10.30.25 Unfortunately daddy said the no pain feeling had worn off by this morning, which it was intended to do. We can't wait to try the actual steroid shot. I understand the shots in the lumbar region have better pain reduction than in cervical and thoracic regions reading of their studies in efficacy. Hopefully the eventual RF Ablation will provide at least a few years of relief. Spine and Sports Medical building was very easy to find, in a nice location, receptionist was very friendly and helpful, all nurses and etc staff were super nice during intake, and Dr. Lo was fantastic as always! Somehow daddy's blood pressure, taken 3x, was between 151/102 - 168/108 while his normal BP readings at etc doctors' offices are always 120/78 - 138/112, but he did gain 6 lbs recently all within 2 weeks timeframe, which he's now back on a diet to take off. Thank you to all here, and see you next time!

First of all, I have to complement the Front desk staff, they are friendly, efficient, empathetic, and very kind. Dr. Gowda is one of the most professional doctors I have ever met. Not only is he knowledgeable. He takes the time to listen to all of your issues whether they’re related to your specific problem to formulate a treatment program. I’ve never felt rushed during my appointment as a matter of fact, he makes sure I’m relaxed. I’ve been his patient for two years now and he’s really helped me with my debilitating chronic pain. He’s a good man and I thank him.

01.07.26 7:15am Daddy had his Radiofrequency (RF) Ablation for his lumbar region, 3 needles on each side for a total of 6 injection areas done by Dr. Justin Lo, MD, of the Northern California Pain Specialists Clinic, here at the Spine & Sports Surgery Center. Dr. Lo did a fabulous procedure as daddy felt very little discomfort during. The beautiful nurses and staff were very sweet, welcoming and gentle. At early morning church service the next day one of the new pastors told my parents that dad walked a lot better instead of his usual walking in a painful manner. Then mom shared with the pastor that daddy had the RF Ablation done the day prior. So others have noticed an impact already! We are hoping the Ablation lasts as long or even longer than the 1 yr it's supposed to keep the nerve pain at bay before nerves regenerate. Since nerves regenerate at a slower rate in the elderly we are hoping for a 2 yr period prior to needing a repeat procedure. Degenerative osteoarthritis is a terrible, painful and debilitating disease of aging, hopefully a permanent remedy can be developed soon. We thank Dr. Justin Lo, MD, and all staff here at this very clean & safe surgery clinic.

I can’t say enough good things about my experience here. Dr. Welsh is an outstanding doctor—knowledgeable, compassionate, and truly attentive to patient needs. From the very first visit, I felt listened to and cared for, and the treatment plan has made a real difference in my quality of life. I also want to recognize Beatriz, who with the rest of the staff, provides exceptional customer service. She goes above and beyond to make every interaction smooth and stress-free. Whether it’s answering questions, scheduling, or just greeting patients with kindness, her professionalism and warmth make such a difference. This team truly cares about their patients, and I highly recommend them to anyone seeking excellent care and support.

The practice is trying to make money off you and says false statements. I wanted to schedule with a certain doctor and they asked me to do with another one since they were available first and then I could move back. Later they refused to shift treatment. I got many injections and the pain just shifted and got worse. The doctor and I had talked about PT being a good option to manage my pain. He did not put it in his notes so the office refused to put in a referral for a pt unless I scheduled a telemed appointment. The least you can do as a pain management clinic is to make referrals.
