Updating my review as my experience continues to get worse. I ended up going in person about my test results since I couldn’t get ahold of a person. Radiology sent me upstairs to cardiology. The woman at the front desk at cardiology was unbelievably rude and dismissive. I explained this order came from my oncologist and she said, a what? How does a person in the medical field not know what an oncologist is? She didn’t ask me for my name, DOB, nothing. She sent me back to radiology who can’t help me. I was told a Dr. Anil Shah signed off on my order but somehow no one can help me locate the test results. I received the statement of benefits from my insurance company, they already billed them. I’m calling my insurance company today, as it seems fraudulent to bill my insurance when no one call tell me where my test results are. I called cardiology today and the woman I spoke to today must’ve been the same woman I encountered last week, rude and unhelpful. Still no answer on where my results are. She wanted to transfer me to radiology. I explained the situation, she told me to call my primary care doctor, my PCP didn’t write the order. I had an echocardiogram over a week ago. My test results still aren’t in the patient portal, and my doctor doesn’t have them either. When I call, I’m always sent to the Waldorf office who tells me they can’t help and they transfer me to the radiology center at the Bean Building, where I get an answering machine. I’ve left messages and no one has returned my calls. But I’m sure they’ve billed insurance. I guess I will have to go there in person to figure out what’s going on. They should’ve leave people waiting like this, you don’t have an echocardiogram for no reason. I will never come back to their radiology department.

Good luck with this place. I'm currently sitting on hold, waiting to reschedule an appointment with radiology. This will be the second day I've attempted this. The hold times are ridiculous. Yesterday, I was transferred three times in an attempt to get me to the right person to reschedule my appointment. I had been on hold for a total of 45 minutes before I just gave up. Today, I was on hold for 25 minutes before I exercised the "If you would like to receive a callback from one of our agents, please press '1'" option. I got a call back after an hour... just for them to transfer me to Radiology where I've now been sitting on hold for 40 minutes. But hey, I can choose to get a callback from an agent when it's my turn, I'm sure just to sit on hold again. At this point, it would take me less time to drive to the building to reschedule in person. MedStar Shah as a whole needs a serious upgrade. The entire system is like dealing with a doctor's office in 1994. No reliable patient portal, no online bill pay, and now hold times that go beyond ridiculous. Not worth it in the slightest.

I've been coming to the Bean Building for several years now—for doctor appointments, tests, and follow-ups—and they have never failed me. The level of care, professionalism, and consistency across the board has been outstanding. Dr. Gill is a truly wonderful physician. I've had the privilege of being treated by some of the best, including Dr. Jarboe and Dr. Brown, and I can confidently say Dr. Gill is right up there with them. Transitions between doctors have always been difficult for me, but Dr. Gill and his staff made it seamless and exceeded my expectations every step of the way. Thank you to Dr. Gill and the entire team that includes all of the Bean Building staff, for your dedication and care. I'm incredibly grateful! Jean Kenney Combs

Nurses, Assistant to the doctor, and the doctor were all fantastic and saw me in timely manner. The only thing I had a problem with was trying to change my insurance. I saw the doctor here , but the check in person said I had to give my new info to the doctors home office at southern hospital, my doctor is Thomaslin. She said they don't have the same computer information, yet I saw the Dr. here. Sounds weird to me.

I went here for a thyroid ultrasound on October 15, 2024 and despite providing my insurance card, they sent me a bill for $800. After many hours on the phone, I was able to get them to apply my insurance and insurance ended up paying $300. I discovered on November 18, 2025 that they never sent the results of the ultrasound to my doctor. I discovered this a year later because I came here again for an MRI on November 6, 2025 and they never sent those results to my doctor either. They outsource their calls to a call center and the MRI wasn’t even scheduled correctly. It was supposed to be with contrast and it was scheduled without contrast, at a time where a doctor wasn’t even in the building to do contrast, so the MRI was a complete waste of time. Despite this, they billed my insurance for almost $1200. DO NOT GO HERE FOR RADIOLOGY, it is a scam.
