I’m new to Iowa and this was my first eye appointment here. It’ll also be the last. I’m not sure if this is a policy in Iowa but having to go in with 3 different people to get tested, go back to the waiting room twice and then being rushed by the Dr., but I’ll definitely not be returning. I’m used to being with 1 medical person and 1 doctor in the same room to have everything done. Not having to go back and forth twice. The Dr came in for just a couple of minutes and basically told me the opposite of what my long time Dr has been telling me for years. He never did address 2 issues I had asked about. Also, the person doing the 2nd testing couldn’t wait for her patient. Just called out his name and rushed back to the room. The poor guy was wearing a boot for an injury and he was practically trying to run to catch up to the lady. It feels like a drive thru restaurant . Get them in and out as fast as they can. Not a very personable clinic. I guess I’m not used to so many medical people not liking their jobs down here.

My husband and I have been patients at this clinic for years. Yes, sometimes we have to wait because a patient or the doctor has an emergency. It is understandable if someone needs urgent care. It may happen to any of us someday, as it did to my husband. He had a cornea transplant in both eyes and presented a small detachment that needed to be fixed by the doctor right away. He was seen the same day I called, and the issue was resolved efficiently and promptly. Dr. Raecker and his staff are kind, patient, understanding, very knowledgeable, and well-trained.

Initial greeting & sign in: 8/10. Pleasantly welcomed. Registration took a bit of time BC of information in computer not initially matching insurance (or something). Arrived about 30 before apt. Retrieved from waiting room about 10 min post-appointment time...Within acceptability. Technician performing initial evaluation was pleasant an professional. 8/10 Final call back to discuss results W Dr. was a bit jarring when my first name was announced, and two of us in the waiting room responded. Rather than clarify "Joe W", the tech announced my full name, which I'm pretty sure HIPAA frowns at. 3/10 Review of results W Dr. went smoothly and I felt informed. Though I am curious in the apparently significant discrepancy in RX from another provider a few months ago. Looking forward to the new glasses telling me which RX was more spot on. 8/10

A very good experience for my cataract surgery. Dr. Blodi did a superb job from the initial exam all the way through surgery. Everybody was very nice and went out of their way to make me comfortable. It was a very good experience with the outcome being perfect vision without glasses. I highly recommend Dr. Blodi and Des Moines Eye Surgeons....

Des Moines eye surgeons is a well oiled staff that supports each other and patients well. I always feel I am treated like a valued person and staff are willing and ready to explain things or make things clear. I know my eye issues are being carefully monitored and that gives me great confidence and peace as I age.
