This place shouldn’t even be open anymore. Spent 7+ hours and a ct/contrast scan here, blood taken, etc. for nobody to come give me any info, just discharge papers and say I had hemmroids from using the restroom frequently. Was passing straight blood but they didn’t even do stool test. sent me on my way. Come to find out I was showing signs of infection and I was also suffering from a chronic ulcerative colitis flare up and will have this disease forever. They are not clean, there was a random urine sample next to me in my room (was not mine) I had to ask them to remove this before doing mine so they didn’t confuse the two. Also it will take them days to give you results of simple things like urine samples. Had my Dr get results from everything they did and she said infact, several things were abnormal. Ct was abnormal as well. They did not tell me anything. They are lazy. Within the 6 hours I was here about 4 of them were spent listening to them yap about random things, make jokes to eachother constantly. When you are in pain and scared, and know something is wrong… to be not believed and completely dismissed is just wrong. They do not care about you here. They will not communicate with you here. They will likely just make sure your heart is beating and send you on your way. I’d go literally anywhere else.

The nurse that cared for me was amazing. He was patient and comforting. The nurse that drew my blood was rude and disrespectful, dismissive. I did not appreciate the boldness and rudeness of the admitting officer that harassed me for payment after checking what my balance would be after insurance

Should’ve read the reviews before going here. I addressed horrible eye pain that was pressure coming from my head into my eyes and what might be the possible causes. Doctor came in, didn’t listen to me and just looked at my eyes and gave me eye drops. I was still in pain and told them I didn’t want to leave in the same condition I came in with. She said I won’t feel better until I get eyedrops at home, in which didn’t help either. She discharged me and I still couldn’t see. Horrible place. Take your time to go to any other hospital but here.

The initial staff was pretty friendly. However, shift change happened and the nurse didn’t speak two words to me. The physician on site told me “it’s the Holidays and I can’t diagnose you, so follow up with someone after the 1st.” I was released without socks, shoes, pants or a shirt. I was still in horrible pain. When I asked to stay in the room until someone could pick me up and bring me clothes I was looked at like I was inconveniencing them. The only reason I’m giving 2 stars is because the initial staff that I saw were extremely kind, friendly and helpful.

I would not go to the emergency room on Roosevelt road again, the nurses and x-ray were great but the doctor wasn’t so much, he wouldn’t give me anything for pain for a broken arm. I was really hurting bad and I thought that he could have at least given me a Tylenol or anything. They did refer me to Dr. Latka at lakeshore bone and joint and they saw me the same day and were wonderful, so things worked out, I don’t remember the doctors name at Northwestern health but I wouldn’t go back there,if you feel like you need to go to the emergency room do t go to the one on Roosevroad in Valparaiso, go to Porter instead, I’ve been there several times and they were much nicer,
