By Cathy Robinson: I had cataract surgery in January 2026 and Dr. Jonathan Aker performed the laser-assisted surgery. Dr. Aker was absolutely wonderful. He sat down with me and discussed my surgery and the lenses that would benefit me the best. The surgeries were successful and I have 20/20 vision. Everyone at Aker Kasten Eye Center was welcoming and professional. The staff at the front registration area greeted me and made sure I was all set for my surgery. They were very kind and extremely helpful. The medical staff throughout the entire procedure from the beginning to the end were so kind which helped with my nervousness. I felt I was in good hands and that they made it their mission to make sure I was comfortable. Both a nurse and Dr. Aker contacted me at home after each surgery to check on me. I am so grateful I had my cataract surgery done by Dr. Aker at the Aker Kasten Eye Center. I would recommend this eye center to my family and friends. Cathy Robinson

It's such a relief to go to a doctor that equals Aker Kasten. All the personnel are professional as well as friendly. They move you through your examination speedily and efficiently. They talk through the exam and let you know everything that they are doing and why. My wife, and myself, have been with them for over fifteen years and have never had a single problem with them. When I went to have my cataracts taken out, Dr. Aken talked through the entire process making me feel totally at ease. The bottom line is that if you need an eye doctor, don't look any further than Aker Kasten.

Very professional and caring atmosphere. My NY ophthalmologist recommended Aker Kasten at my last checkup in NY, when it became obvious that my vision concerns were caused by cataracts. I am returning there for measurements for surgery this coming week. I have been assigned to Dr Kubal, who, one of my friends who had surgeries with him, tells me that he is spot on accurate. That encourages me.

So far everything was great for my appointment. Ran on time, all techs were professional, and everything was double checked because I have a concern about my one eye that needs cataract surgery. I had a Vitrectomy to close the macular and it didn't close properly leaving me with a divot instead of a perfect circle. This was my second opinion and I asked all my questions. I was not rushed but assured what I said was correct. And though I will be different than a "regular" seeing patient and maybe not have the many choices a "normal eye" patient has that the operation will clear up my vision some. I have been living with extremely blurred vision since the retina operation when I was "going blind" in that eye. Next week I meet with the surgeon and feel more confident about the procedure.

My cataract surgery experience…From the moment you enter until the moment you exit the office and staff are exceptional! You can tell everyone loves their job, the staff is very friendly and they introduce themselves and explain each step they are doing. The doctor explained the procedure and the different lens options clearly. He is kind, and most importantly an excellent surgeon. I am thrilled with my results.
