I went to Emory Ambulatory Surgery Center for what was supposed to be a routine colonoscopy, and it turned into a traumatic medical emergency. During the procedure, the doctor perforated my colon, which caused internal leaking and required an emergency transfer to the ER for surgery. I was hospitalized for three days as a result. Dr. Mohammed Razvi, MD did come to the hospital and offered a brief apology, but that was the extent of the accountability I experienced. What followed has been even more frustrating. Despite this being the result of a medical error, I was left responsible for the hospital bills and ambulance charges, which I am still struggling to pay. I made multiple attempts to resolve this through their office and even sent a formal letter requesting assistance or discussion regarding the bills. I received no response at all. The lack of follow-up, compassion, and responsibility has been extremely disappointing. Because of this experience, I still have not been able to undergo another colonoscopy due to fear of this happening again. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone. The procedure itself was life-threatening, and the lack of support afterward made an already traumatic experience much worse.

My experience went well at this location. It was my 1st time ever doing a colonoscopy and given my age I was getting one done pretty early some may say. From the moment I walked into the waiting area I felt welcomed. Ms. Toya got me checked in for my appt in a timely manner. There was no wait. Ms. Shebreta was very sweet and kept my mind at ease. She was so easy to speak with and she answered any questions I had in the moment. I was very anxious. Dr. Baines came in and checked on me and introduced himself. He asked me a few questions but also talked me through the process and how he plays a part in my procedure that day. Brandon (RN), Hayes, Shante, Dr. Lewis and Imani (RN) all were very knowledgeable and made me feel VERY comfortable. I went into the procedure with the unknown at the forefront of my mind and they were all so understanding to my anxiousness. Dr. Lewis's bedside manner is great. She came into recovery to check on me and make sure I was ok and wasn't in any sort of pain. I didn't feel any pain at the area site. I truly thought I wasn't going to be able to walk after the procedure. This staff was amazing. I was in and out in no time. Thank you again to the entire team and anyone I may have forgotten. Blame my mind and not my heart. Happy Holidays to you all.

Never before have I been so frustrated dealing with an Emory procedure. So I was scheduled for a procedure. I noticed 3 days before the procedure that there was no time or instructions listed on my chart for when to report for the procedure. Just a couple questionnaires. Unfortunately when I called no one picked up and it was Friday. I messaged my doctor but of course he was already out of the office And he wasn't going to get back to me over the weekend. On top of that every time I've ever had a procedure, Emory has put an estimate on my chart on how much it's going to cost. But nope nothings there, yet I know it was pre-approved through my insurance. The only thing showing on my chart was the procedure listed as all day event with no appointment/arrival time.(The doctor had stated it was a very quick non-surgical procedure and my guess is about 30 minutes tops not all day). I can't even seem to get a straight answer as to when the place opens. As none of the Emory lines picks up over the weekend. Google says 8:00 a.m. but people report being required to show up at 6:30. I'm not at all sure how this could have happened. Lets Hope that if I show up at eight having driven a long way they don't tell me I'm too late.

I am actually quite stupefied by the many negative comments about this facility. My experience was wholly different. The team, from top (checking in) to bottom (discharge) was stellar -- professional, courteous and efficient, most significantly the outstanding quality of the team that performed my ocular surgery. Hospital care in this day and age is a crapsshoot at best. But this Emory Ambulatory facility represents the flagship's well deserved name. (Many of the bad reviews here have to do with scheduling screw ups...which are not inconsequential. But administrative malfunctions should not negate the general quality and professionalism of the medical teams here.)

Very disappointed with my experience of this surgery center. Came here for knee surgery. Preop nurse was amazing and I had best experience with her. However, the post-op nurse was disgusting. I couldn't wake up after anesthesia and she kept physically disturb me and make disrespectful comments. My wife was at bedside and she was amazed by difference between nurses. I'm a nurse myself and work in the same organization and I'm ashamed that this nurse works in this field and treats people with such a terrible way. It felt like she was trying to get rid of me ASAP and ignored my request for pain and nausea medications. I hope that Emory reads this reviews and will make appropriate corrections. I'll be following up about this matter with management.
