I just had hip surgery here yesterday and everybody was amazing! All the nurses treated me with exceptional care. Specifically, my post-op nurse, Sarah, was so kind and caring.
2nd visit: 01/21/25 I had surgery here last week for a Shoulder Rotator cuff repair and other surgery on my arm done. The minute you walk in the surgery center you feel a sense of calm as everyone is so kind. The Pre and Post nurses were amazing. They always had a smile on their face. Matthew, the Nurse Anesthetist was amazing. Surgery had been delayed a little bit due to a backup of surgeries and Matthew was able to talk with me about my general concerns and talking about general stuff. Post op went well, did not wake up with nausea, so that was a bonus. Once I was awake enough, the nurses got me dressed and home I went. The next day I got a text asking me a bunch of health questions since I went home. I had to check one thing that I was experiencing and was a little bit nervous and received a call from a Nurse at the surgery center. She wanted to make sure it was resolving, which it was. Just knowing that they followed up with me put my mind at ease. The center is very clean and everyone follows the hand washing protocol. That is very important due to having surgery. I am a RN, so I am always watching things like this. This review is 7 days post-op and had no issues with infection. I will say from my prior review that the staff wear the badges backwards, so you cannot see their name. Of course they told me their names, but once you get all those meds you forget. They should be required to wear it with their names shown so we can leave the good reviews on specific people. 2/24 My husband had surgery there last week. 2 weeks before they started calling and emailing about the copay. They wanted the $2,400 up front. They made us feel like if it was not paid in full, surgery would be cancelled. So we paid in full. The day of surgery, everything went well. All the nurses kept us informed and he was up and walking with a walker shortly after surgery. The only thing is the staff wears the badges backwards so you cannot see their name. I am not sure why they do this, but it would be nice to see their names. They also ask you to bring your home walker but it really is a waste. They just ask you to walk in the hall and then they put you in a wheelchair to discharge. Then I had to grab the walker with all our stuff out to the car. They should provide walkers at the facility just so people can walk the hall. The next day my husband got an email questionnaire from the surgery center. He answered it but never received a next day follow up call. Our doctor was amazing so I would come back to this facility if my doctor suggested it.
The people at the surgery center on the clinical side are wonderful. The billing side, however, is a completely different story. They Over collected towards my deductible and max out-of-pocket, and it was a great struggle to get them to reimburse the money they over collected. Not what you want to be dealing with when you are trying to recover from surgery.
I had a posterior meniscus root tear repaired at the Charlotte Surgery Center. I am so thankful for the kind and authentic care from the entire staff. I received a ton of information 2 days prior and easily completed all of my paperwork online. The nurses were wonderful as was the anesthesia team. Great experience overall!
My son had to undergo surgery at the Charlotte Surgery center Wendover Campus. The surgeon & the entire team including nurses were quite professional. I was informed about how they are going to perform the surgery, What to expect after surgery & what all things I need to do after the surgery. My son is recovering now.
