THE BUCKS GI ENDOSCOPIC SURGICAL CENTER is one of the most inefficient, unprofessional medical offices I have ever encountered. I had a colostomy that was canceled when I arrived after doing all the required preparation. The reason given for the cancellation was that the anesthesiologist would not put me under because I told them during all of my prescreening that I was allergic to eggs, which is an ingredient of Propofol. When I initially made the appointment, the receptionist said the last time I was there was in 2017; today, when they canceled, she claimed my previous appointment was in 2013. Either way, the procedure was done, and the procedure was done without Propofol. When I initially made the appointment, I did advise them of the egg allergy. Last Friday, I called the office three times and left a message to confirm my appointment and ask a question about the unclear preparatory instructions I had received. As the assistant said, I received three voicemails, none of which canceled my procedure. The staff, a receptionist, and an anesthetist assistant insulted and blamed me because they said a message had to be left—which I have proof was not. Imagine going through the preparation and being lied to about why they canceled. I was distraught and made sure they knew I was. The excuse can be made that they were being cautious; however, I have been through other surgeries, and in all cases, when they were made aware of my allergy, another drug was used. They did offer to do the procedure without anesthesia. Is it a classy place, uh? The office is poorly run and understaffed, and I strongly suggest you not use them or cancel if you have a procedure scheduled. And yes, I formally complain to any PA Medical Boards available and willing to listen.

Terrible!! Will NEVER go back. Wish I saw the reviews were only 2 stars before I scheduled with them. I completely see why they have such a low rating!! Had be come in at 9:45 and didn’t start for almost 2 hours later with no explanation or update of when I should be brought in. The worst bedside manner. They gave me bad directions about fasting - everything I read said you should be on about low caloric diet 3 days before - they said nothing about this. Their office is freezing and never directed patients about the temperature issue in the building. When I woke from anesthesia- and said I was cold and needed to go to the restroom they basically brushed me off and said this is normal and would have to wait even though in the beginning I was told if I can hold a cup without spilling the. I was good to go. Next time I would gladly wait 3 months to go to get the procedure done at Capital Health

I recently went to Bucks County GI for an endoscopy. Prior to my visit, I checked to make sure they took my insurance. I was assured they did. I arrived for my appointment. I was greeted very nicely, I had a short wait in the waiting room and then I was led back to the procedure room. I was told I would be receiving anesthesia and that the entire procedure would take less than ten minutes. I received "the gas" and quickly went to sleep. In what seemed like less than a minute, I was being awakened. After the endoscopy was over, the Dr., who really didn't say much to me prior to the procedure, very generously gave me almost a full minute of his time to tell me he found nothing. But curiously, he did give me a script and told me to make a follow up appointment in a month?????? The office was clean and pleasant, as was everyone I talked to. The staff was respectful and the Dr. seemed to know what he was doing. The problem I have, despite being paid a rather nice "chunk of change" from my insurance company, I have been inundated with bills from this practice. Don't get me wrong, anyone who's ever been treated by a doctor knows, after insurance has paid their share, it's just a matter of time before the mailman delivers a letter seeking even more money from said doctor. So, while I wasn't surprised when I received my bills Bucks County GI group, I was a bit surprised at the amount of money they wanted. It seems, this practice, which has probably been around for years, really seems to have this billing thing down to a science. After payment from insurance to the anesthesiologist for, what seemed to me, a staggering amount of money for such a brief amount of work, I received an additional bill from the anesthesiologist for over $400. Perhaps it was time to service the Mercedes, who knows. Upon my arrival to the office, I paid my $45.00 co-pay. After a nearly $400. payment from insurance to the Dr. I received an additional bill for $100.00. So, for a procedure that literally took less than ten minutes, the charges were several thousand dollars. What makes this story so tragic; there are so many people who need care but they can't get it because they know, after insurance has paid their part, they are going to be billed ridiculous sums and they can't afford to pay it. Thankfully, I'm not in that position. Yeah, the money paid by the insurance companies just isn't enough. Let's just pile on the costs, because we can. If you're wondering why the general public has such distain towards the medical community, this is just one of the many reasons. I will say, I felt fine after the procedure and I was thankful after the endoscopy, I wasn't missing an arm or a leg. However, since being bombarded with these extra bills, I've been feeling a little nauseous. I'll just buy some Rolaids. It's much cheaper.

Was scheduled for a colonoscopy at 8 am. Prep didn't work properly and I started calling at 6:30 am (when the office was supposed to be open) to cancel the procedure. After my 12th attempt to get a hold of a "life" person, I left a message on their mailbox that I would cancel my procedure.

The doctors were great. My issue is with the anesthesiologist. I have an extreme fear of needles due to trauma in childhood and as someone with an anxiety disorder it makes me have a panic attack when I get bloodwork or IVs. Normally nurses are patient with me and I get through ok, despite my crying. However, this woman decided to be incredibly rude about it. She told me to grow up and get over it. I just turned 18 I’m still a kid and this is rooted in trauma, that I’m not able to just “get over”. She also decided it was her place to tell me I need to be medicated “for my nerves.” I found her presence in this situation made me panic even more. I feel bad that I give them a hard time but I truly can’t help it and understanding that and being patient normally helps the process go faster and easier for everyone. Someone needs to train this woman on how to deal with people who have this anxiety.
