The surgeon and the nurse who went over aftercare (Dr. Forwith and Madison Riggs) were PHENOMENAL. Very kind, thorough, and knowledgeable. Front desk lady was also super kind (Allison) and the facility was clean and pleasant looking. However, I had 2 nurses that helped me as I was waking up from anesthesia. I do not know their names but the younger nurse was very sweet and took care of me as best she could. She must have left not too long after I fully woke up so I was left with an older nurse (black medium length hair and wearing light makeup) who was absolutely awful. I woke up and was in so much pain that all I could do was sob. I have never experienced level 10 pain before but this was definitely it. I could not communicate well but luckily I had my mom and girlfriend with me who were able to advocate for me. They told the nurse that the pain was due to hypertension (as shown by my blood pressure) and diabetic hunger (I hadn't eaten in 12+ hours and anyone who understands diabetes knows what that will do to you, no matter what your blood sugar readings are). The nurse came back with a double dose of the pain meds that the doctor prescribed me and some zofran. I did ask for them at first but by the time she got back, I realized that what I really needed was something in my stomach. She said my blood sugar was too high for me to feel the way I did. Anesthesia will spike blood sugar for a few days so of course my sugar was unreasonably high. She refused to do anything besides try to give me the meds that I said I no longer needed. Said I should just go home and rest because I would feel better. I could not even open my eyes all the way even though I was fully awake, nonetheless get dressed and walk and leave. She tried rushing us out several times saying that I just needed to go home until I finally explained to her (without much of a voice) how diabetes works and why I could not get up yet. I asked for a new nurse and she said she was the only nurse there. My mom helped dress me so we could just go since I was obviously not going to get help there and when I got up, we realized that I was sitting in a puddle of my own urine. I do not have incontinence issues, this was further evidence of a diabetic crisis. The nurse's face went pale when she realized how badly she had misjudged the situation. She was also insanely rude to my girlfriend and it was painfully obvious that she was uncomfortable with the idea that we were gay. She just stared at my girlfriend for SEVERAL MINUTES without saying anything before she took my family back to be with me. Every other patient had nurses that were super attentive (even sitting down to talk with patients) while we had to keep tracking down this nurse to get any kind of help. I hate to leave anything less than five stars because everyone else was truly amazing. This nurse deserves to be fired, though. If I did not have both family members there with me, I would not have been okay and I am terrified of how things would have gone without them.
After reading such five star reviews and working in the medical field myself i was almost ecstatic to have my procedure done here. Little did i know my opinion would quickly change. I was given a 10:45am arrival time for a procedure i was told by the doctor that would take approximately 30 minutes. Naturally i arrived at 10:15am npo and ready to go. Was left sitting in the waiting watching it clear out twice until almost 2pm. At one point i moved over to the chair beneath the sign that says no pictures or video recording and something caught my attention on the floor. Low and behold i am about 99.9% sure it was a bed bug. I did not want to cause a scene as the waiting room was starting to fill up once again so i moved to the other side of the room to wait for another hour. Once being called back i had asked anesthesia if he would be using propofol as i had u of l fax my anesthesia records prior to my procedure because they will no longer use it on me. I was informed that he had not received the information even though the lady at the front desk reassured me that he had. Propofol was used say the least and i was left feeling drained and hard to wake up. I finally was released from this place around 5pm. The nurses on both ends were really great to me though.
We had a wonderful experience at this surgery center for my son. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly kind, caring, and professional. They made us feel comfortable and reassured during a stressful time. Everything was very well organized, and the process was quick and efficient without ever feeling rushed. The doctors and nurses took the time to explain everything and treated my son with so much patience and compassion. I’m truly grateful for the excellent care we received and would highly recommend this center to any parent.
I had a total thyroidectomy at Advanced Regional Surgery Center, and the entire team treated me exceptionally well. I had a great experience from start to finish. The facility was clean, well-appointed, and made me feel very safe. The staff was supportive, professional, and kind throughout my care. Nothing bad happened, and I truly felt well taken care of
The surgery center itself was very nice and well organized. Dr. Yantis performed our daughter’s surgery and is seriously the best of the best. We appreciate all of the care we received from each person we came into contact with. Top notch!
